Lisbon (LIS)
1 hr 30 · 150 kmHumberto Delgado is the usual arrival. Pick the car up at the airport and take the A1 north; the run is motorway almost the whole way.

Lisbon and Porto sit almost equidistant from the villa, both on the same motorway. Fly into whichever is cheaper on your dates — there is nothing to choose between them for the drive.
Humberto Delgado is the usual arrival. Pick the car up at the airport and take the A1 north; the run is motorway almost the whole way.
Francisco Sá Carneiro is the same distance from the other direction, and often cheaper from the UK and northern Europe. The A1 again, southbound.
You want a car. The villa sits in a village, not a resort. The beach, the towns and the supermarkets are all a short drive, and there is free parking at the door. Without a car you would be stuck, however lovely the pool is.
The A1 is a toll road. Most hire cars can be fitted with an electronic transponder, which is far simpler than dealing with the cameras afterwards — ask for it at the desk when you pick the car up.
Arrival is from 15:00 and check-out is 11:00. Tell us your flight and we will meet you with the keys; if you land late, say so when you book and we will sort it out.
Do a shop on the way. There is a large supermarket a few minutes from the house, and the kitchen is set up for cooking properly rather than reheating.
