Villa Mendes is not in Lisbon, and that is the point. It is 1 hr 30 up the A1 in Pombal, which buys you a whole house, a private pool and a garden for less than a city flat, with the capital close enough to visit on a whim.

How far is it, really?
About 145 km, or 1 hr 30 of almost uninterrupted motorway. If you want to walk out of your door into Lisbon, book Lisbon. If you want a pool, four bedrooms and silence at night, and you are happy to drive when you fancy a city, this is a much better use of your money.
Most guests go into Lisbon once or twice across a week and spend the rest of the time between the pool, the coast and the towns nearby. The house sleeps 8, so it works out at a fraction of what 4 hotel rooms in the city would cost.
